B. B King, born in 1925 to a poor farmer in Mississippi, turned to playing Blues and headed for Memphis. There he made his first recording in 1949. B.B. is credited for bringing Blues into popularity in the 50ís and early 60ís, a time when Rock and Roll dominated the music scene. B. B. King, The King of the Blues, and his guitar, "Lucille", have influenced other Blues musicians and Rock musicians as well.

B. B King has been consistent with his style in his recordings for over 50 years, unintentionally establishing his style as the Blues Sound, as others have imitated him.

Some of his early tunes such as "The Thrill is Gone" and "A Bad Case of Love" are recognized as Blues classics by most critics, is still played frequently by new artists.

"Iíll Survive", considered by B. B. to be his favorite on the CD, an early recording, changed very little on the new CD.
